Tafsil (تفصيل) is the journal of Mizyana.
The word means two things at once: detail, and tailoring. Both meanings sit at the heart of what we publish. Tafsil is where we think out loud about modest fashion as a wardrobe philosophy, not a search filter. Where we treat the abaya, the hijab, and the covered wardrobe with the seriousness that the rest of the fashion industry has only recently begun to extend to them.
What We Believe
We believe modesty is not the absence of style. It is the discipline that produces it.
The covered wardrobe asks more of fabric, of cut, of intention, and the women who have built that wardrobe across generations have been quietly some of the most sophisticated dressers in the world. Tafsil is for them. It is also for the women now joining the conversation, from across the Gulf and beyond.
What You Will Find Here
You will find essays, profiles, and reported pieces. Some weeks we will write about a single fabric. Other weeks we will write about a generation, a city, an idea. We are interested in what modest dressing looks like in a Kuwaiti tailor's studio in 2026, and what it looked like in a Bedouin tent a hundred years ago. We are interested in the designers building the future of this category, and the grandmothers who built its past. We are interested in the difference between a garment that covers and a garment that means something.
